Many rich people built their summer homes in San Pedro del Pinatar at the end of the 19th century and this museum gives you a glimpse of their lives and how they affected the community & growth of the area. Other exhibits include local archaeological finds and collections of antique toys and cinematographic materials.

Dedicated to the research and conservation of Spanish underwater cultural heritage there are many great exhibits at this museum including the cargo of several shipwrecks.

The museum is housed in a beautiful building in the Town Hall square and houses many archaeological objects recovered in the excavation of the theatre and local area. Walk through the various rooms and you will arrive at the Roman Theatre - this is well worth the visit alone and once you experience this monumental place, you will never forget it.

The Roman Forum Museum stands as the entrance to one of the largest urban archaeological parks in Spain. Throughout its various halls, where a careful selection of pieces is exhibited, you will be able to learn about the long history of Cerro del Molinete from today back to the old Carthago Nova. Visitors to the Fuerte de Navidad can find out in detail about the defensive system of Cartagena throughout history. Enrol as a cabin boy on the Tourist Boat and visit the only coastal battery to have been adapted to show the everyday life of military men in a 19th century fortress. You can explore the casemate bunkers, learn how to handle a cannon and find out how the artillerymen ate and relaxed, and round your visit off by enjoying the magnificent views from the terrace. This is the best starting point to get to know the city and acquire an overview of its 3,000 years of history - it has served as an enclave for a Roman temple, a Muslim citadel, a medieval castle and even installed a siren that warned the population of the bombings in the Civil War. There's a panoramic elevator to save you the walk up the hill but once you are there you will get the most amazing views of the city and port.

The Naval Museum of Cartagena is located on the ground floor of the building built in the 18th century as the Prisoners and Slaves Barracks, which became the Marine Instruction Barracks after the Civil War.
The Peral Submarine moved from the seafront to undertake its restoration and its adequate exposure to the public, becoming the main piece of the museum. The collections offers a tour of the history of the Navy in the city of Cartagena.

The Civil War Air Raid Shelter Museum is a place to remember and learn about the recent history of Cartagena, which was a strategic point and prime bombing target in the Civil War. As you pass along some of the galleries and hear the testimonies of those who lived during the conflict you can appreciate how the struggle changed their lives as well as how the passive and active defence of the city was organized. The audio-visual with the actual images and sounds of the war brings home the scale and severity of the war as you experience it inside an actual shelter.
