From the tranquil waters along the Mar Menor to the long beaches on the Mediterranean, from secluded coves to bustling promenades lined with chiringuitos, sun beds and palapas, there's a beach for everyone.

The coastline stretches about 7km along the Mar Menor and is known for calm, shallow & one of the warmest waters in Europe . It has a continuous promenade dotted with chiringuitos and sun beds so is perfect for families. Some of our favourite beaches are:

Sitting on the Mar Menor, Santiago de la Ribera enjoys 4km of golden sandy beaches and very calm, shallow water making it ideal for relaxing & swimming. Our favourite spots are:

One of the most natural & unspoilt beaches in the Murcia Region. It sits inside the protected Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar Natural Park, right where the Mediterranean meets the Mar Menor.
It has a wild landscape with dunes, flats & lots of birdlife and about 3km of open coastline for you to walk and enjoy the scenery. There are no beach bars here but it's great for nature lovers and photographers.

This beach can be found at the end of a wooden walkway through the dunes. It's a beautiful, unspoilt setting with amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea and the wild natural dunes & flats.
Great for long walks, nature lovers & photographers as it feels untouched - it's very scenic. There's limited parking spaces nearby.

This area is famous for its calm beaches along the Mar Menor and natural therapeutic mud baths in the salt lagoon (La Characas). There's a continuous 6km promenade linking the town to Santiago de la Ribera with plenty of stops for drinks, tapas or swimming. Our favourite spots are:

A quiet, traditional beach located between Los Alcazares & Los Nietos. Known for a local feel and calm Mar Menor waters.
The beach is right next to the town with easy access to restaurants. It gets a lot busier in the Summer but is quieter during the rest of year making it perfect for long walks along the coast and you can swim off the wooden jetties.

This is one of the cleanest and most pleasant beaches on the Mar Menor. Know for a relaxed atmosphere, its great for swimming or just enjoying the views of the Mar Menor islands and beautiful scenery especially at sunset.
There's bars, restaurants and ice cream spots nearby to tempt you too.

Playa Honda is a quiet residential beach on the Mar Menor, just before La Manga. Known for its wide sandy shore, calm water and relaxed atmosphere. It's a great alternative to busier tourist spots nearby.
Here, you can enjoy safe swimming conditions, great sunsets and lovely walks in a quiet environment.

This is a small, quiet beach with a gentle sloping shore, perfect if you love a peaceful atmosphere and safe swimming conditions.
Open views across the Mar Menor and beautiful sunsets make it a lovely choice for a low key day but maybe not for you if you want lively bars & parties!

La Manga del Mar Menor is a unique 22km strip of land with beaches on both the Mediterranean Sea & Mar Menor so you can walk from one sea to the other in just minutes.

This hidden cove near Portman is a mix of dark sand, gravel & rocks and surrounded by mountains and an old mining landscape. It's usually calmer than other beaches along the coast as it's in a sheltered spot.
You can rent sun beds in the summer but there are limited parking spaces and it tends to get busy so get there early. One of the best things about the cove is Chiringuito El Lastre so you are guaranteed great food &.drinks right on the beach. They are known for amazing seafood and big portions!
